                                   Chiropractic
Ever since the principle behind chiropractic was discovered in 1895, chiropractors have been helping people discover that healing comes from within. Rather than introduce a foreign substance to the body along with its side effects, or surgically remove an organ no longer thought to be needed, chiropractic helps the body heal itself.

Decades of research have shown the relationship between structure and function. Chiropractors not only deal with the spine and its relationship to the function of the nervous system, but the role of proper structure (posture) in overall well-being.

Frequently asked questions regarding chiropractic are as follows: First, can a patient be too young or too old? The answer is that chiropractic can benefit from newborn to the elderly, although the techniques will vary depending on the patient.

Second, is chiropractic safe for pregnant patients? Yes, it is, and special techniques are used just as noted above. It is critically important that spinal alignment be as normal as possible for a normal delivery.

Next, how long do I have to be treated for? This depends on a number of factors. Some people may choose to be treated only when their condition is painful to the point where it interferes with their lives, while others may opt for prevention - similar to seeing your dentist every six months to prevent problems from occuring.

Last but not least - is it expensive? Most Major medical plans cover chiropractic, as does No-fault, Worker's Compensation, and Medicare. Not insured?  Our cash fees are quite reasonable. Nutrition

If you were to poll a large number of health care professionals as to the leading cause of health problems in this country, there would be one thing that would come in first, and by a large margin: Nutrition, or more specifically, malnutrition.   Now most of you are equating malnutrition with a lack of food, when in fact the prefix mal- simply refers to "bad" or "poor".  In fact, "mal" is "bad" in Spanish!  Over the past several decades, the exact biochemical pathways between excess intake of refined carbohydrates and diseases such as arthritis, Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease, female problems, and a whole host of other ills has been actually mapped out, molecule by molecule.

Factor this in with the fact that nutritional deficiencies are a common side effect of prescription medications.  For example: Diuretics, commonly known as "water pills" and used for hypertension as well as other ills, and cholesterol medications known as statins will deplete your body of essential nutrients. Depletion of these nutrients will cause musculoskeletal problems, the type of which causes many people to seek chiropractic care to begin with.

To top it off, the world in which we live is full of toxins - everything from automobile exhaust to chemicals in our food to gases that are released by the furniture and carpet in our homes.   There is a saying among health care practitioners: "The solution to pollution is dilution". What this means is that when your body absorbs these toxins from the environment, it will actually retain water  in an attempt to keep these toxins diluted. A supervised cleansing regimen helps rid the body of these toxins, leading to possible weight loss and an overall sense of improved well-being.
